EYES PEELED
new year, new DRAUP
Since starting, the DRAUP team has published 23 pieces of writing:
11 ESSAYS covering everything from how visual culture compounds to what good clothes look like in the digital space
9 EYES ON CULTURE spotlighting the creators, coders and curators who inspire us
3 MINIFESTOS outlining the theories and theses that inform our outlook
As part of our rebrand we’re finding new homes for this writing, and adding new benefits for those who read it. Going forward:
All long form essays will be published on Mirror and will include embedded Easter Eggs in the form of NFTs.
Our shorter bi-weekly ‘Eyes on Culture’ newsletter will be published here on Substack, allowing our readers to scroll through the archive to explore features from the past.
Our minifestos will be published on both platforms but minted on Mirror as collectible NFTs themselves.
The first in our series, ‘The Code Is The Couture’, is collectible now.WHY WE WRITE.
“YOU CAN MAKE ANYTHING BY WRITING”
- C.S LewisDigital fashion is in the process of coming into being. What that could and should look like is still up in the air.
By putting words on paper, we aim to pull our imagined future into existence.“WE READ TO KNOW WE ARE NOT ALONE”
- C.S LewisCrypto, NFTs and the even smaller niche that is digital fashion are still far from mainstream.
If no one has looked at you skeptically, scoffed when you told them what you do or informed you that “crypto is dead” you’ve built yourself an impenetrable echo chamber and we commend you on your carpentry. But as we build out the DRAUP community, woodwork will not be our focus.
Instead, we aim to use our writing to present our ideas, to interrogate and share them in order to continually refocus. In thinking out loud we hope to be more thoughtful in what we create.
So, whether you agree or disagree, we want to hear your inputs.
Just as we aim to open your eyes with what we write, we hope you will open ours too.
We’re both excited and grateful to have you on this journey with us and can’t wait to show you what’s to come.
